Teges Corporation was founded in February 2001 as a software development firm specializing in electronic medical records and clinical research. Teges is a privately held Delaware Corporation with headquarters in Miami, FL. Teges’ area of expertise focuses primarily on providing web-based resources for clinicians to manage and monitor critically ill patients in real-time.

Teges derived its name from a region of Greece called Tegeaeus (or Tegea) the home of the temple Athena Alea the "Goddess of heroic endeavor".

Handwritten patient information is often illegible, disorganized, or lost. Digital patient information is invariably scattered among multiple incompatible database systems and stored in various multimedia formats.
